Its common for the elite level cyclists and keen amateur cyclist to get there bikes fitted, but even with this, cycling regularly and for long periods of time can often put pressure on muscles and joints if your posture is still failing you. Adaptive Cycle Analysis (ACA) assesses the individual on the bike and makes modifications to your technique and position, with perhaps slight adjustments to your bike. This will enable you to get the best out of your performance with minimal discomfort to your joints so you’re not left with backache at the end of a long cycle. Our specialist, Danny, is a keen touring cyclist himself and as an osteopath, understands the mechanics and benefits that the service can provide to help make your cycling experience more comfortable and enjoyable.
Livewell’s ACA, is a 60 min appointment broken down into a consultation, both an on and off the bike analysis, as well as advice and treatment to ensure your bike is set up for a perfect cycle ride. This includes;
- Bike seating configuration, including adjustment of saddle fore aft and seat height, cleat position and stem reach/drop; to increase your power and efficiency on the bike.
- Improving pedaling technique and bike posture; to address flexibility and strength as well as get you cycling more efficiently. As well as educating patients on how to avoid unexpected cycle injuries.
- Sorting aches and pains you may experience on your bike, including knee pain, back pain, neck pain and Achilles pain; treating the root cause.

Whether you’re just taking up cycling, preparing for a sportif, for charity, in retirement, on the weekends or just for fun, Livewell’s ACA is for you.
